The Seige of Charleston was a major engagement fought between. March 29 to May 12,1780 during the American Revolutonary War. The British, follwing the collapse of their northen stategy and their withdraw from Philladephia, shifted their foucus to the American Southern Colinas. After aproxximanatly six weeks of seige Major Genral Benjamen Linch,commanding the Charleston garrioson, surruned his forses to the Britsh,resulting in one of the worst American defeats of the war.The British had a victory out of it. The city was surronded by British. The burcation was Charston South Carolina.
